Lunch Time Supervisors Training
This scheme is aimed at encouraging supervisors to set up and play
simple games with the children at lunchtimes. You can turn your
lunchtime help from supervisors into lunchtime leaders. We show
various skills and games that can be taught to key stage 1 and 2
children. We show them how to set up games, using appropriate
equipment and set suitable games for particular age groups.
Key stage 1 being the fundamentals of sport, whilst key stage 2 is
more games related. Supervisors joining in, means more games set
up which enables more children to be active and participate in
games, reducing the amounts of incidents at lunch time.
Lunchtime supervisors training and playground leaders training
linked together can create a happy playground at lunchtime.
Playground Leaders Training
The aim of the playground leader’s scheme is to introduce and
develop leadership skills in years 5 and year 6 children. It is
hoped that the scheme will increase the amount of physical
activity undertaken during playtime and reduce the amount of anti
social behaviour currently taking place in the playground
The scheme is relevant to four areas, developing confidence and
responsibility and making the most of their abilities, preparing
to play an active role as citizens, developing a healthier safer
lifestyle and lastly developing good relationships, and respecting
the differences between people.
The year 5 and 6 children will set up games of their own, and allow
key stage 1 children to play them. They will set up an area using
correct equipment, explain rules and encourage children to
participate in controlled games
We have found this scheme to be very successful, lunchtimes can be
made fun and entertaining for children, with minimal incidents. We
run it alongside lunchtime supervisors training, please see
appropriate link for information on this training.
Our breakfast clubs will give children the
opportunity to attend fun based activities. This gives an
opportunity for more exercise and not only keeps the children fit
but also helps and prepares for the day ahead. Breakfast clubs
cost as little as £20 for the hour
Lunch Clubs
We can provide structured coaching during
the lunchtime period. We set a variety of games and sports to suit
the children’s needs. At schools, we have an area for football as
have found this to be very competitive, but under supervision this
can be controlled. We work alongside lunchtime supervisors, by
setting up other areas such as more game related on Key stage 2
including hockey, basketball, and cricket. But on the Key stage 1
side we work on the basic and fundamentals, such as target games,
throwing and catching, and working up to game related skills.
Providing lunchtime activities for children
has shown that it can result in better behaviour and a stronger
learning focus in the afternoon. Incidents are also reduced during
this time, as we encourage it to be played in the spirit of
fairplay. The skills learnt in lunchtimes, also help the children
during their P.E time as skills are transferred across. For
lunchtimes, we charge £20 per hour; we run playground leaders and
lunchtime supervisors training. Please see appropriate link.
Jump on Board
Help your pupils get active with the jump
on board programme, a fun interactive programme that helps
children aged 5 – 11 years make changes that can benefit their
health.
There are 12 sessions, which can be
delivered over 6 – 12 weeks so please contact us for more info on
info on timescale and costings etc. Below shows how it works and
what each module consists of.
How
does it work?
The full course consists of 12 interactive
modules for curriculum time, which all involve a physical activity
element and lasts around an hour.
What
are the Modules?
All the modules are stand alone so schools
can pick the ones they feel would best meet their needs. However,
it is recommended that pupils complete at least 4 modules in order
to ensure they benefit from the programme.

During the half terms (February, Easter,
twice in the Summer and October) we offer children, young people
with disabilities and their siblings the chance to take part in
physical activities, have fun and learn in a friendly and
supportive environment that has lots of energy and colour. We have
been running these successful activities for many years, some of
the children we have, have been attending since the start. The day
is split into 2 groups, we provide sports for children aged 5-8
years 10-12pm, and then sports for children aged 9 years up 1-4pm.
The children rotate around throughout the session taking part in
different sports such as trampolining, boccia, new age curling,
wheelchair sports, bouncy castle, parachute games etc...
These sessions must be booked prior to
attending as numbers are limited. Contact information is requested
and from that we can send out relevant information via messaging
to let you know the dates of the next course but they do tend to
run on a Thursday of that holiday.
